Maggi Noddle Pulled Nestle India in Trouble

All this started in April 2015, when sample of Maggi Noodles tested by Foodsafety and Drug Administration, Government of Uttar Pradesh (UPFDA) and found that it contains high level of lead and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). After this, UPFDA also ordered Nestle to recall about 2 lakh (0.2 million) packs of Maggi Noddle. 

After this, in last week of May 2015, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India came in picture and collected samples of Maggi Noddle from different parts of country. 

On May 29, 2015, UPFDA filed a case against Nestle India Limited (NIL) - manufacturer of Maggi Noddle. 

On June 3, 2015, Bihar Court ordered police to file FIR against brand ambassadors of Nestle India which included Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta

According to Indian Express, 5.2 billion packets every year in 130 countires.

Permitted level of lead is 2.25 per million (ppm).
